“Arts at the J” Brings a Cultural Renaissance to Southwest Orlando with New Pargh Event Center
At the Rosen JCC, we believe in the power of community, and there’s no better unifier than the arts. That’s why we’re proud to announce the launch of Arts at the J, a transformative new cultural initiative bringing high-caliber performances, theater, music, and more to Southwest Orlando.
Kicking off this vibrant new program is the debut of the newly renamed Pargh Event Center, our revitalized performance venue made possible by a generous $1 million donation from community philanthropist Andy Pargh. This visionary gift sets the stage — literally — for a new era of creativity, connection, and community building.
A Grand Opening to Remember
Arts at the J officially launches November 23 with a performance by the talented students of the Orlando Ballet School, followed by a moving December performance of Opera Orlando’s “All Is Calm”, a poignant holiday production celebrating the World War I Christmas truce.
This is just the beginning. Future performances will include:
- “Anne and Emmett” by The Bridge Theatre – January
- Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra – February
- CFCArts Jazz Band Concert – March
- Comedy for Peace – April
- AARP Latin Dance Experience – May
We’re also partnering with organizations like Osceola Arts and Orlando Family Stage to bring even more enriching youth theater and summer programming to our campus.
More Than a Venue
The newly christened Pargh Event Center is more than a performance space. It’s a community gathering place where people from all walks of life can come together through shared cultural experiences. With seating for 600 guests and flexible configurations for banquets or concerts, it’s the perfect place for creativity to thrive.
The next 18 months will bring even more enhancements:
- State-of-the-art lighting upgrades
- Retractable seating system for flexible use
- Banquet-ready kitchen and gathering spaces
- Green room and backstage amenities for performers
A formal rededication ceremony is planned for February 12, and we’re just getting started.
A Message from Our CEO
“I’m not an arts professional, but I’m a community builder,” says Ofira Bondorowsky, CEO and Executive Director of Rosen JCC. “The arts are a powerful force in bringing people together. With Arts at the J, we’re creating a welcoming space that reflects the vibrant spirit of our diverse Southwest Orlando community.”
This initiative is not just about performances — it’s about accessibility, inclusion, and impact. From seasoned patrons to first-time attendees, everyone is welcome at the Pargh Event Center.
